A program for children

Scoliosis Academy

A group rehabilitation program for children up to 16 years of age.

How the program is structured

6 principles

Groups by scoliosis grade

Children are first examined, then divided into groups according to their scoliosis grade. Each group has 6–8 children.

Monitoring with a scoliometer

An X-ray is not used every time to measure the grade — a scoliometer is used instead.

Specialist supervision

Exercises are conducted under the supervision of a rehabilitation specialist and a physiotherapist.

Massage + rehabilitation combined

The program is not just exercise — therapeutic massage is also included.

Structured and safe

Times and days are adapted to the child. Each class lasts 45 minutes.

Group motivation

Group exercise both motivates children and teaches them to move correctly under specialist supervision.

How is the program run?

  • 1. First, an osteopathic examination and diagnostics
  • 2. An individual program is written
  • 3. The child is assigned to a suitable group (minimum 6 people)
  • 4. Times and days are adapted to your child
  • 5. 10-day program — results are monitored

Who is it for?

  • Children with grade 1 and grade 2 scoliosis
  • Other postural disorders such as kyphosis and lordosis
  • Shoulder and pelvic asymmetry
  • Prominence on the upper back (scapular winging)
  • Postural disorders and getting tired quickly

Why in a group?

Group rehabilitation exercises give children motivation and teach them to move correctly under specialist supervision. The aim of this process is to strengthen the muscles around the spine, improve postural balance and support the musculoskeletal system.

How are results measured?

X-rays are not used every time to measure the degree of scoliosis — a scoliometer is used instead. This avoids repeated radiation exposure, especially in children who are still growing.
