Sometimes the doctor’s first clue is not the MRI but your posture. During posture analysis, asymmetry in the shoulders, pelvis and spine is detected, and the points where the body is compensating are identified.
1What does the analysis include?
- Spine and posture assessment
- Measuring muscle balance
- Checking shoulder and pelvic symmetry
- Determining leg length discrepancy
- Assessment of pronation/supination at the ankle
- Identifying the cause of the pain
2Scoliometer
We do not use X-rays every time to monitor the degree of scoliosis — a scoliometer is used instead. This avoids repeated radiation exposure, especially in children.
3Clinical posturology
Posturology is the science of body posture. Clinical posturology studies the functional relationships between all the organs and their influence on posture.
When should you consider it?
- Scoliosis monitoring
- Postural disorders
- Leg length discrepancy
- Pelvic asymmetry
