Kinesio tape is an elastic tape applied to the skin. Its main function is to support the muscles and joints, reduce pain and improve blood circulation.
The tape works like this: by slightly lifting the skin, it stimulates blood and lymph flow in the tissues underneath. This in turn speeds up the recovery process.
1How is it used?
The tape stays on the skin for 5 days. Then there is a 2-day break, and it is reapplied if needed. This cyclical use gives both the skin and the muscles a chance to rest.
