Does stress pass? Maybe not — it stays in your body

Neck, shoulder and low back pain — sometimes the cause is not psychological but stress stored in the body.

Author: Dr. Elfana Suleymanova Medically reviewed

The pain, tension, fatigue and difficulty breathing you have felt for a long time may be things you assumed would “pass.” But the body remembers everything, and one day it answers with pain.

Stress does not only cause emotional exhaustion in the body: stiffness in the neck, tension in the shoulders, shallow breathing, asymmetry, constant weakness — these are sometimes the body’s way of signaling to us. Because when the nervous system is overloaded for a long time, the body can no longer hide it.

The body is silent, but its memory speaks

Sometimes a feeling you experienced in the past comes back today as pain in your body. Neck tension, being unable to take a deep breath, heaviness in the shoulders… the cause may be emotional rather than physical.

Osteopathic touch is one way to awaken this silent memory and release the quiet blocks.

We look not at where the pain is, but at where it comes from.
