The Adams test (forward bend test) alone is not enough to diagnose scoliosis. For a more accurate result, several indicators are assessed together.
1What does a full assessment include?
- Visible signs — shoulder height, shoulder blade prominence, asymmetry of the waist triangles
- Seated Adams test — distinguishes between functional and structural
- Scoliometry — measuring trunk rotation in degrees
- Checking leg length — a difference of more than 5 mm is always taken into account
- Shoulder–pelvis asymmetry and muscle balance
- Assessment of the fasciae and hypermobility (Beighton test)
After this, osteopathy and physical modalities (electrotherapy) are applied together to stabilize the condition and monitor progress.
We look not at where the pain is, but at where it comes from.
